Anjuman-I-Islam's Akbar Peerbhoy Girls' Polytechnic

Pioneering Women’s Vocational Education since 1981

Our Legacy and History

Since its establishment in 1981, Anjuman-I-Islam’s Akbar Peerbhoy Girls’ Polytechnic, functioning under the aegis of the renowned Anjuman-I-Islam Trust, has been a pioneer in women’s vocational education in Mumbai. Founded under the visionary leadership of Mr. Akbar Peerbhoy and Mrs. Homai Peerbhoy, the institution was built on the core values of empowerment, excellence, and service to society. What began as a modest technical training center has grown into a well-established vocational institute, producing thousands of skilled women professionals who contribute meaningfully to various sectors of society.

To further strengthen its commitment to holistic education, the institution introduced its Nursery and Playgroup wing in 1988. This wing provides a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for early childhood development, focusing on age-appropriate learning, creativity, social skills, and moral values. By fostering a strong educational foundation during the formative years, the Nursery and Playgroup reflects the institution’s belief in shaping young minds with care, discipline, and compassion.

As an integral part of Anjuman-I-Islam, one of India’s oldest and most respected educational and social organizations established in 1874, Akbar Peerbhoy Girls’ Polytechnic proudly upholds a legacy of over a century of excellence in education and community service. Guided by Anjuman-I-Islam’s mission of inclusive education, social upliftment, and nation-building, the institution continues to empower women and young learners through skill-based education, ethical values, and lifelong learning.

At Anjuman-I-Islam’s Akbar Peerbhoy Girls’ Polytechnic, our primary focus is to create an inclusive learning environment that empowers women through skill-based education and values-driven training. We strive to equip our students with practical competencies, confidence, and a sense of social responsibility, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.

Alongside vocational education, we recognize the importance of early childhood development. Our Nursery and Playgroup wing reflects this commitment by providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young learners are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.

With the continuous support of Anjuman-I-Islam, a dedicated team of faculty, and active participation from students and parents, the institution remains committed to academic quality, innovation, and holistic development.

We look forward to shaping capable professionals and responsible citizens for the future.
